Privacy Policy

Coding Now 팀(“Operator”) respects the rights and freedoms of data subjects and complies with applicable laws including South Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with the services at CODINGNOW (https://www.coding-now.com).

1. Information Collected

We do not operate a sign-up flow and do not directly collect personal data for service use. Data may be collected only in the cases below.

  • Email inquiries — email address and message content
  • Auto-collected — IP address, browser type/version, cookies, access timestamp, visited pages (for operations and statistics)
  • Sign-up and sign-in — email address, password, nickname, and the time you signed up and agreed. We email you once to confirm when you sign up; after that you sign in with your email and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash — not even the site owner can see them.
  • Comments and members' board posts — the title/text and the time posted, shown with your nickname (comments publicly, board posts only to approved members). Likes are stored only as a total per post.
  • Children under 14 cannot create an account (you confirm you are 14 or older when signing up).
  • Visit counter — the cumulative and today's visit numbers shown in the footer are anonymous aggregate counters. We do not store IP, User-Agent, or any personally identifying data tied to the counter. One increment per browser session.

  • Receiving and responding to inquiries
  • Service usage analytics and quality improvement
  • Abuse prevention and security
  • Identifying members, signing in, and publishing and managing comments

3. Retention

Data is deleted once its purpose has been fulfilled, except where legal obligations require retention.

  • Email inquiry records: 1 year after closure
  • Access logs and cookies: up to 6 months
  • Member information (email, hashed password, nickname, sign-up and consent time) and that member's comments and board posts: deleted without delay when the account is deleted. You can delete your account with “Delete account” in the comment area under any post

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

This site may use cookies for user experience and statistics. Through advertising partners (such as Google AdSense), ads may be served and advertising vendors may use cookies or identifiers to provide interest-based ads.

You may refuse cookies via your browser settings; some functionality may be limited as a result.

5. Third-Party Sharing

The Operator does not share personal data with third parties except where the data subject consents or where required by Article 17 of PIPA or applicable law.

Processors and transfers abroad

To run member accounts and comments we use the processors below. Data is sent over the network when you sign up, sign in or comment, and kept until you delete your account. If you don't sign up, nothing is transferred (and you can't comment).

  • Supabase Inc. (US company) — member authentication and member data (email, hashed password, nickname, consent time), comments and members' board posts (nickname, title, text, time, member ID), likes and visit statistics · stored in a data center in Seoul, South Korea
  • Resend, Inc. (US company) — sending sign-up confirmation and password reset emails · data: email address · country: Japan (Tokyo sending region) · delivery logs are kept under Resend's policy

You may at any time:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction of errors
  • Request deletion or suspension of processing

We act on such requests without delay upon receiving them at the contact below.

8. Policy Updates

This policy is effective from the date above. Changes are announced on this page; changes that are less favorable to users are announced at least 7 days before they take effect.

Change (2026-10-13)— with new member sign-up (email sign-in links) and member comments, sections 1–3 (member and comment data, retention, no accounts under 14) and section 5 (processors and transfers abroad) were updated. These only add a new feature and do not reduce any existing user's rights, so they take effect on 2026-10-13. Sign-up data is collected with your consent at sign-up, and new members can comment once the site owner approves them.

Change (2026-10-14)— sign-in moved from an email link every time to email + password (and a members-only board opened the same day), so sections 1, 3 and 5 now list the password (stored hashed) and the confirmation/reset emails. It is collected with your consent at sign-up and does not reduce any existing user's rights, so it takes effect on 2026-10-14.
